Imagine a world where everyone follows the same path, makes the same choices and ends up looking exactly the same.

Not my idea of a good time.

My childhood was shaped by a divorce, bullying and the weekly ritual of moving between two homes. Somewhere between all of that, sitting on a bench in the playground, I learned the most important lesson of my life:

Nobody else gets to decide who I become.

Not circumstances.
Not expectations.
Not other people.

That simple realization has guided me ever since.

Years later, after countless sketchbooks filled with ideas, observations and colourful experiments, House of May was born.

Not as a design business.

As a way of seeing the world.

A world where personality beats trends.
Where originality is worth protecting.
Where colour is more than decoration.
And where the things that make us different are often the things that make us memorable.

Today, that philosophy finds its way into everything I create: patterns, artwork, objects and collaborations infused with colour, curiosity and a healthy disregard for the ordinary.
