You don't want to be like everyone else.
How boring.

Imagine a world where everyone followed the same path, made the same choices and ended up with the same home, the same career and the same opinions.

Not exactly my idea of a good time.

My childhood was shaped by a divorce, bullying and the weekly ritual of moving between two homes. Somewhere between all of that, sitting on a bench in the playground, I learned the most important lesson of my life:

Nobody else gets to decide who I become.

Not circumstances.
Not expectations.
Not other people.

That single thought has guided almost every decision I've made since.

It explains why I studied architecture but became a project manager before starting my own creative business. Why I keep exploring new disciplines instead of staying comfortably in one lane. And why I've always been more interested in people who choose their own path than in those who simply follow the expected one.

Over the years, I realised that curiosity isn't just a personality trait.

It's a way of protecting your freedom to think for yourself.

The more curious we remain, the more likely we are to question the default, discover what truly resonates with us and create a life that feels aligned with who we are, not with who we're expected to be.

House of May grew out of that belief.

Not as a pattern design studio.

As a place where curiosity, color and independent thinking come together.

Today, that philosophy finds its way into everything I create: original patterns, expressive artwork, objects and collaborations designed to spark curiosity, start conversations and make ideas visible.

Because I don't believe the goal is to stand out.

I believe the goal is to make choices that genuinely feel like your own.

The rest tends to follow naturally.
